Henry is a gentle giant, a massive horse with a heart as big as his towering frame. He is broke to ride and best suited for an intermediate rider who is comfortable and confident handling a horse of his size (17 hands)

 

Henry's Story

When we first rescued Henry, we couldn't help but notice the slight droop in his lip—a lasting reminder of an old injury and the hardships he endured before finding safety with us. But despite his past, Henry's spirit is anything but broken.

Henry is a bit of a goofball, always finding ways to make us smile with his silly antics. Whether he's nuzzling his enormous head into your arms or playfully nudging his water bucket, there's an unmistakable warmth in everything he does.  And if you really want to win Henry's heart? Scratch his shoulder! It's his absolute favorite thing in the world. His eyes soften, and you can almost see the gratitude in his expression.

Though his lip may carry a reminder of his past, Henry has learned to trust again. He is living proof of what love, patience, and second chances can do for a horse.

 

What Does Leasing Henry Look Like?

• Riding Opportunities: Henry is broke to ride and suitable for an intermediate-level rider.

• Build a Special Bond: Spend quality time grooming, loving, and getting to know this big, lovable goofball.

• Enjoy the Horse Experience: Have the opportunity to enjoy many of the rewards of horse ownership without purchasing a horse.

• On-Site Lease Only: Henry will remain at Lovy's Equine Sanctuary. He cannot be trailered, taken off the property, or used for off-site activities.

• A Second Chance to Be Loved: Your lease helps support Henry's continued care while giving him the attention and companionship he deserves.

Henry needs someone with intermediate riding experience who understands that a horse of his size deserves patience, confidence, and gentle handling.

More than anything, we're looking for someone who will love Henry for exactly who he is—not just a horse to ride, but a friend to spend time with.
